Blue pottery is the traditional craft of Jaipur where they use eye catching blue dye to color the pottery. The roots of this craft go back to the Mongol artisans who combined Chinese glazing techniques with Persian art. The raw material used for the pottery is made from Multani-Mitti or Fuller’s earth.
Traditional designs include flower, animal and bird motifs. These are painted on items such as jars, pots, vases, plates, glasses, cups and saucers.
