The Tingatinga painting style was developed in second half of the 20th century in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).  The genre is names after its founder, a Tanzanian painter Edward Said Tingatinga.  The subject of the paintings typically revolve around the “big five” and the “native people”.

Where It Was Made

As I was travelling through Tanzania, the Tingatinga art caught my eye and upon my return I decided to capture what I (Aisra) had seen on my very own canvas.

Who It Was Made By

I (Aisra) enjoy travelling and have always wanted to share my experiences, putting them on canvas was one way for me to do this.
